CONGRATULATIONS TO CLUB BROMLEY BEN’S !!

Tanseikan hosted another Fun Day at Rotherhite on Saturday 23rd where Club Bromley Members, Ben Harding & Ben Holder made the club very proud by winning quite of few medals and cups.
Great aikido all round from 30 juniors ranging from age 6 years to teens.

Many thanks to Dave & Vanda for hosting another great day for the next generation and it was good competition experience for the Shodokan Open Under’18s National Tournament on Saturday 27th April.

Tanseikan Fun Day for the under 18's Aikidoka

David & Vanda from Club Tanseikan are hosting another Fun Day.  We highly recommend for our South East Aikidoka ~ great day for both instructors and members with lots of medals & cups to be won.  Previous Club Bromley winners have been Donell & Asher, Ben, Philip and Matthew.  If you havn’t managed to get to one, hopefully you can make the 23rd and it’s a good prelude to gain some further competition experience ahead of the Shodokan Open Under <18’s Tournament in March.

Tanto Tai-Sabaki – 6 tanto strikes in 30 seconds    

Hikitategeiko  demo event– showing kaeshi waza and combination    

Ninin dori – partners from different clubs    

OTHER INFO
There will be coaching throughout the day, prior to each separate competition event.
High grade demos and games at the end of the day before the medals ceremony.
Children should bring BAA or SAUK membership book to be signed and bring proof of insurance.
They should bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks (no fizzy and no caffeinated drinks).

Hombu Instructors from Japan at Thomas Tallis on Thursday 7th March

FUMIKA YAMASAKI and AYAKA NAKASHIMA
two senior Shodokan Hombu Instructors are touring the UK for only a week beginning March.  We want to emphasise what a great opportunity this is for Aikido South East members and that it is quite unique to have two Senior Female Hombu instructors on a roadshow, guaranteed to be inspirational and enjoyable!    

Club Kidbrooke are very lucky to have both of them teach on
Thursday 7th March, from 7pm-10pm
     
(NOTE:  the ‘open mat space’ option will not be available that night)

Pick’n’Mix session of 8 lessons being run throughout the day (2 at a time) - you choose which you want to join.

BAB insurance is required , so please remember to bring your certificates

A permanent competition level Martial Arts Dojo with two permanent matted areas and spectator seating for 150.

Closest Rail is Kidbrooke Park – 2 min walk to the Dojo.
Plenty of buses available from Rail & DLR Stations Lewisham, Blackheath & Greenwich and
Underground Tube Station North Greenwich (02).
Taxi’s from all BR stations is approx 5 min pending traffic.

Congratulations to Club Bromley for achieving Sport England UK Club Mark Status.
Sport England recognises and values the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants.

Clubmark was introduced in 2002 by Sport England to:

  • Ensure that accrediting partners apply core common criteria to ensure that consistent good practice and minimum operating standards are delivered through all club development and accreditation schemes.
  • To empower parent(s)/carer(s) when choosing a club for their children.
  • To ensure that Clubmark accredited clubs are recognised through a common approach to branding.
  • To provide a focus around which all organisations involved in sport can come together to support good practice in sports clubs working with children and young people.
