Sunday Training returns to the Glades Pavilion Centre

Glades Shopping Centre, Pavilion Sports Centre, Kentish Way,  Bromley  BR1 3EF from 5th February.

Please note change of class times:-
8:30 – 9:30am – Juniors from age 6 years to  Teens
9:30 – 11:30am – Teens from age 13 years to Adults

We will be located in STUDIO 2.   At front reception, go left around reception and follow the signs to studios.  You will pass the changing rooms before you get to the Studios

ps:  Wednesday Training (7:30pm-9:30pm) remains at Langley Sports Hall.

  • No drills
  • No teaching techniques
  • And definitely no Kata

Just Randori and lots of it. Just turn up and get stuck in.

Second Thursday of every month at the Greenwich Dojo. 7:30 to 10:00pm.

Kick start the year with a Weapons Course - Saturday 21st January

Those who attended the last weapons course run by Scott Allbright in london will remember how informative it was and how much it improved our understanding of weapons use generally. This is highly recommended for everyone and open to teens from age 14 years upwards.

Shodohai Competition, Randori & Referee Course - Sunday 22nd January

Open to all, whether competing or wanting referee experience.  Also, a great opportunity for club instructors to catch up with the SAUK Squad Manager to understand the instruction necessary to get their students training for competition.

Under 18’s – Embu and Randori Seminar

A quick thought….. it’s no coincidence that the likes of Laura Beardsmore, Christian Kirkham, Tim and Gitte Wolput, Steve Evans, Danielle Jones and Vanda Fairchild were all coached at an early age, competed as Juniors and went on to become superb World Champions.

So following on from the success of the under 18’s Randori seminar in October run by Christian Kirkham and Steve Evans and the Tanseikan Junior Funday in November, Tanseikan Aikido Club are pleased invite all aspiring Aikidoka who are under 18 (and their coaches) to an Embu and Randori seminar which will be held on Sunday 29th January 2012 from 11-3.

Greenwich Training Times for 2012

First class for 2012 will be Tuesday 10th January.

Class times to remain the same as last year:

Tuesday: 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Saturday: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Cronin makes the grade as he receives his black belt

THE Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Shodokan Aikido Club celebrated the successful grading one of its first junior dan grades at a seminar held at Swanmead Dojo, on Saturday 10 December.

Miles Cronin, who has been training at Tonbridge and also at the Tunbridge Wells club, graded to black belt in front of a four-person panel, including Sensei Jim Newcombe, 5th Dan. Sensei James Burman, third Dan, who has been world silver medallist and UK gold medallist, says he felt very proud for Miles, who had been training very hard recently, and this was proved by the quality of his aikido.

Ittaikan 2012 Training Times & New Training Venue

Happy New Year!
Ittaikan training times and venues are changing as of today!
Please can you update your details as shown below and also pass on the info to anyone else that may be interested.

  • Monday 6pm to 7:30pm – Dorset Gardens, Brighton, Adults & experienced teenagers 
  • Wednesday 6pm to 8pm – Brighton University Sports Centre, Falmer Site. Adults & experienced teenagers.
  • Saturday 1:15pm to 2:45pm – Brighton University Sports Centre, Falmer Site. Junior session
  • Saturday 2:45pm to 4:45pm – Brighton University Sports Centre, Falmer Site. Adults & experienced teenagers.
I have attached a map of how to find the Brighton University Sports Centre. There is free car parking available at the times when we are training in the lower car parks  Ittaikan Map
If there should be a football match on at the stadium and the officials stop you then please tell them that you are booked in for Aikido at the sports centre.   At Falmer, we will be training in the studio’s which are located upstairs. Changing rooms are on the ground floor. If in doubt ask at the reception for help.
